When getting a divorce, many people focus on the two major factors - who get's the money and property, and who gets the kids, but there's more to getting a divorce in Arizona than just finances and custody.

As with any state, the laws are different, and it's likely that any layman just doesn't have enough information to process it themselves, and with the complexity of elder care, job markets, psychology, real estate and scheduling thrown on top of it, it can seem overwhelming.

Here is a list of companies and organizations that help couples considering an AZ divorce to get not just their finances in order, but also get their lives and peace of mind on track.

Arizona Divorce Mediation - Agreement House

First things first. If you must get a divorce in Arizona, you need to be able to work out your issues, get them on paper, and process them.

The benefits of divorce mediation, as opposed to litigation, are many including working out what both parties need, instead of fighting blindly for them, maintaining a civil relationship for the sake of the children, which will yield benefits in the future when emergencies arise, and saving time and money.

Arizona divorce mediation does all this in the framework of Arizona law, and works if you live in Arizona, or one or the other from the couple is an Arizona resident.

Mediation and document preparation can go a long way to streamlining the AZ divorce process, and once the 60 day waiting period has elapsed, both parties are free, but have hopefully built the bridges necessary to make their separate lives easier anytime they have to be together.

The Agreement House offices are in Ahwatukee, convenient to the Metro Phoenix area and East Valley.

Each meeting is a casual group event, allowing everyone the chance to speak about their situation and recount their progress. Both professionals offer their advice towards the end of the group, and are also available for one-on-one sessions.

Suggested donations are $10 for group sessions and $50 for one-on-one sessions, but no one is turned away.
